9 Things Poor People Buy But Rich People Never

8325 ratings | 474842 views
Hey you — wish you could afford the new iPhone? How about a trip to the Bahamas? Why is it that no matter how many hours you work a week, you still find yourself sitting at home, eating top ramen, dreaming of a tropical vacation you can’t afford? Turns out, you might be wasting your money on unnecessary things. For example, what's your way you grocery shop? Even though buying food to make at home is already more economical than eating out all the time, there are definitely things you’re doing at the market that have you spending way more than you have to. So, dry your tears: here are things you can avoid in order to save your money and live more like royalty. Other videos you might like: 12 Things That Ruin a First Impression Immediately https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrbnTZPjg0k 20 Things Proving That Japan Lives In 3018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulLv5RdavIw& 12 Signs of High Intelligence You Probably Have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONjVIeJ0HZg& TIMESTAMPS: Grooming and vanity maintenance 0:32 The latest gadgets 1:21 Coffee and other drinks on-the-go 2:02 Diet fads and gimmicks 2:41 The way you grocery shop 3:29 You use credit cards instead of cash 4:42 Coupons that make you buy random stuff 5:32 Impending health expenses 6:13 Food waste 6:58 #savemoney #success #beingrich Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Try making a monthly budget for yourself to spend on grooming rituals. If you can’t afford that spa pedicure this month, maybe you can fit it into the budget next month. - While you really do need things like a cellphone and computer for work and personal reasons, spending all your money on the newest versions of electronics isn’t really necessary. - One way to close up the money pit is by making your own coffee at home! Whether it’s a sturdy tumbler or reusable coffee mug, bringing your own drinks from home will save you serious cash. - If you really want to get in shape and feel better about your appearance, try cutting out junk food, cooking with clean ingredients or spending an extra day of the week at the gym? - When you’re ready to pay for your things in line at the grocery store, try to avoid the impulse buys. Impulse purchases are things like candy bars, gum, and gossip magazines that are right there at the checkout counter just begging you to buy them. - Over time, your credit card balances will build and you’ll be spending more and more of your paychecks on monthly bills. And since they accumulate interest, it can often feel like you’re walking backward on a treadmill - you’ll never get anywhere and you’ll continue paying for years and years. - Did you ever stop to think that if you don’t do annual health maintenance and check ups, you’ll have to pay even more in the end? If you wait too long to get your teeth cleaned, you could be looking at multiple fillings, a root canal and more. - To reduce food waste, try going to the supermarket a couple times a month instead of just once in a while. This way you won’t feel the need to “stock up” and will only buy what you need for that period of time. I watch this YouTube video on my iPhone 5 which I'm still using as my daily driver this phone and Mia been through a lot I bought it used a long time ago for half the price it was going on Amazon for I had to replace the battery a couple times one of which was when the phone got fried by power surge but it only damage the battery everything still works on the phone and it straight up refuses to die. So I'm going to use it until either it dies or it no longer does what I needed to do and so far it is still doing that. Even in 2019.
Travel Richie (15 hours ago)
I'm richer if I didn't watch this video. Lol

Actually rich people don’t just spend money on all the best stuff. That’s why they’re rich. They hang onto their money. Poor people are poor because they spend money stupidly on designer clothes and Starbucks and expensive cars. Ever look at Steve Jobs when he was alive? Same turtle neck and jeans...the owner of one of the worlds biggest and best computer companies. Hang on to your money and you will have more of it. This ain’t rocket science people.

This should be called “How to spend less”. Rich people don’t spend their personal money, they spend their business’ money and pay less in tax for it. Rich people invest. Poor people consume. ‘Nuff said.

Eat to live and try to save some money to survive, spend on necessities & indulge when you can. Just never do those things under 110% for yourself! Make it quality food, enough savings to actually help in times of trouble, never short yourself of things you need and never feel bad about the things you really want. "MODERATION IN EVERYTHING!"😌
I am quite not agree with newest gadgets. My brother did that. He buy a couple a month released gadget (so the hype not make it overpriced). Used them for about 5-6 months then sold it by credits to friends that still want it. Then used the money to buy new gadget with an add of little money. He still can used newest gadget AND at the end while my phone dead and need to buy new one, the money he spend are nearly the same as mine. But he still use newest gadget and me used same gadget for a few year... 😑 but this only worked if you have job with many employees not in kitchen like mine

Tried to make my own coffee at home to save money. Realized I'm not awake enough to even boil water until AFTER coffee. Price of burning down the building > price of buying coffee daily! 😂
Jillian Renata Jones (25 days ago)
I don't drink coffee, but I spent a lot on clothes and shoes. I pack my breakfast and lunch and don't drink alcohol. I'm rich though, I make a lot and save/invest, live in my own condo. I should stop buying clothes, the ones will last for a long time.

Food pantries food banks are a great way to help with the food budget.wash your car at home don't use expensive car wash. Some people dentist school will do your teeth for a discount. There are places in your town that have clinics that will do check-ups for free.

Robert Hansen (28 days ago)
I have a job and I always bring lunch from home. I just don't really find eating out to be that pleasurable anymore. Anyway it cost too much to eat out even for a silly McDonalds meal. And quite frankly my cooking is pretty good. At least I eat it and I like it.
Robert Hansen (28 days ago)
I admit I did buy a couple of bluetooth speakers when I really could have only used one of them. I don't really eat out much anymore. I did buy a couple of other gadgets that I probably didn't need but you know I'm not sweating it. I do tend to eat a little more healthy. One thing I'm glad that I don't do a whole bunch of is eat out. I know people that do that all the time. And I have purchased a lot of clothes second-hand and people have given the stuff. And my two laptops are several years old meaning 6 years old and 7 years old respectively and I inherited a laptop that's a few years old.
ShaVaughn Peterson (28 days ago)
Rich people buy all of these things without question because they don't have to worry about money.

It's entirely possible to practice all of these things and still be poor. It is also possible to be very intelligent, possess a bachelor's degree or higher, and still be poor. In fact, I know a college professor of Philosophy who has to work a second job and still barely scrapes by. He's an incredibly brilliant man, but he's still broke. So intelligence does not always correlate with economic fitness. I myself have a Bachelor's degree, am considered intelligent by others around me, but I am poor enough to qualify for food stamps. As for buying any of the things on this list... well, I'm still paying credit card debt for the trip we had to take out to Oregon for my brother's funeral. It was a very expensive trip because of our family size. So, I spend my money on my 8 children's books for school, extra curricular activities, and the debt we created back in 2015 for the long trip. On the bright side, one debt paid... don't ask how much left.

About teeth - You know that just brushing your teeth twice a day is THE ONLY cleaning you need to do to keep your teeth healthy? And also do you know that teeth cleaning at your dentist actually will RUIN your teeth and will make them WEAKER? Whole my life I lived with dentist under one roof (and was raised by them) and we talked a lot about this stuff, especially when I came up with the idea to get a dental cleaning. So you better save money on that, big money, and stop ruining your teeth yourself.

Buying a couple lattes a week is not going to make you poor. It's only a few bucks. Find ways to increase income.
Azureecosse (1 month ago)
Wealthy or comfortable people invest in good financial advise , Poorer people don't because they get caught in the debt trap which for some keeps them there, when they do get their hands on any money they don't pay off their debts they spend it on holidays expensive TVs, mobile phones and holidays and branded clothing, some will buy a secondhand Mercedes or BMW because they believe that looking wealthy is a good as being wealthy which its not because wealthy people usually drive bog standard vehicles that don't draw attention, Rich people are usually cash poor and asset rich, they don't spend money on frivolities because they are not appreciating assets, day today they live like poor people and set themselves a strict weekly or monthly budget and they stick to it, wealthy people always pay themselves first and with this cash they usually bank it or invest it in stocks or bonds, most are cautious investors that seek investments that give consistent financial growth, they then re invest this growth. Poorer people live for the moment, wealthier people invest in their future and prepare for leaner times. Seriously wealthy people tap into income streams that take advantage of the poorest like expensive mobile phone contracts , Gym memberships and high end convenience food and drink emporiums, some buy property and let them to poorer people at private sector rates, it has been like that since day one, the poor always feed the seriously wealthy and fund their extravagant lifestyles.

I do all of it (except regular check ups), but still not able to save much money. Also I prefer not going to grocery shopping couple of times in week as it costs way more transportation expenses and more more time than once. I know what I spend much on: its make up. Yes not grooming but make up, like lipsticks, BB creams, blushes which I never use (but I use lipsticks and liner daily) and I don’t know what else to do to save money
